Training & Experience
My training
I’m a BACP qualified integrative counsellor with a Level 6 Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the NHS Inter-Psyche Training Institute (equivalent to degree level). My earlier training includes a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
Alongside my counselling training, I hold a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. This creative background continues to influence my work, helping me support clients who think differently, feel deeply, or move through the world in ways that don’t always fit traditional expectations.
Additional training includes:
• Cruse Bereavement Care - Working with Loss & Bereavement
• Papyrus - Suicide Awareness (SP-EAK)
• BACP & Open University - Counselling Online
• Ongoing CPD in attachment, GSRD and relational practice
My experience
I’ve worked in both NHS and private practice settings, supporting adults with a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. My NHS placement gave me experience with short-term, structured work, while private practice has allowed me to support clients more deeply and long-term.
I’ve also worked alongside National Ugly Mugs (NUM), offering reflective space to individuals within sex-working communities, experience that informs my inclusive, non-judgemental approach.
Before training as a counsellor, I spent over 10 years working within creative and non-conventional industries. That experience gave me a deep respect for the different ways people live, love and express themselves. It’s also helped me understand what it’s like to navigate stigma, judgment or simply feeling outside the norm, and to hold space for clients with genuine openness and empathy.
⚘
I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) and follow their ethical framework. I’m also registered with the ICO for data protection.
Ongoing learning
I regularly engage in supervision and continuous professional development to keep my practice ethical, reflective and responsive. My current areas of focus include:
• GSRD (Gender, Sexuality & Relationship Diversity) – beginning formal CPD through Pink Therapy. This supports my LGBTQ+ affirmative and inclusive approach.
• Attachment theory and relational work – through ongoing reading and training
• Shadow work and inner parts – developing my understanding through specialist texts
These areas support the kind of work I do: helping clients understand themselves more deeply, soften old patterns, and build steadier, more authentic relationships with themselves and others.
