Training & Experience
My training
I’m a BACP qualified integrative counsellor with a Level 6 Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the NHS Inter-Psyche Training Institute (equivalent to degree level). My earlier training includes a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
Alongside my counselling training, I hold a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. This creative background continues to influence my work, helping me support clients who think differently, feel deeply or move through the world in ways that don’t always fit traditional expectations.
Additional training includes:
⚘ Cruse Bereavement Care - Working with Loss & Bereavement
⚘ Papyrus - Suicide Awareness (SP-EAK)
⚘ BACP & Open University - Counselling Online
⚘ Ongoing CPD in neurodiversity, GSRD and trauma
My experience
I’ve worked with clients in both NHS services and private practice. My NHS experience involved short-term, structured therapy, often within limited timeframes and gave me experience working with a wide range of presentations. This work taught me the importance of clarity, containment and holding hope, even when time is brief.
Since setting up my private practice, I work primarily in a longer-term, open-ended way. This allows space for deeper, more relational work, where trust can develop over time and the therapy can unfold at a pace that feels supportive and responsive to each client. I value the continuity this offers and the opportunity to work collaboratively, staying with complexity rather than rushing toward solutions.
I also work alongside National Ugly Mugs (NUM), offering reflective space to individuals within sex-working communities, experience that informs my inclusive, non-judgemental approach.
Ongoing learning
Alongside regular supervision, I continue to learn and reflect on the areas of work that are meaningful to me. I’m especially interested in:
⚘ Anxiety and overthinking
⚘ People-pleasing, masking and self-silencing
⚘ Relationships, attachment and intimacy
⚘ Neurodiversity-affirming practice
⚘ Identity, self-worth and shame
⚘ The mind and body connection
⚘ GSRD (Gender, sexual and relationship diversity) informed practice
⚘ Experiences of stigma and marginalisation
These themes show up often in my work and continue to deepen my passion for supporting people in understanding themselves more deeply and build steadier, authentic relationships with themselves and others.
