Sessions & Fees
Before we begin
I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a sense of how I work and ask any questions you may have. You’re welcome to share any worries about therapy, as well as any access needs or requirements.
Our first session
Our first full session is a chance to explore what’s brought you here, what you’re hoping for and how we might work together. As part of our ongoing work, we’ll also check in from time to time about how the process feels for you, what’s helping and what you might like to be different.
Frequency and length
Sessions last 50 minutes. I typically work with clients on a weekly basis as this supports continuity, depth and the development of a safe, collaborative space. That said, sessions can be flexible to suit your needs. Some people choose to meet fortnightly, prefer occasional check-ins or work within a particular timeframe.
The length of counselling varies from person to person and depends on what you’re bringing. Some people come for a number of weeks or months, particularly when working with more specific issues, while others choose to work longer term, especially when exploring more complex or longstanding experiences. As a general guide, I usually work with people for a minimum of six sessions, as this allows time to build a therapeutic relationship and begin meaningful work. We’ll review things together as we go and you’re always free to pause or end therapy when it feels right for you.
Location
Sessions are offered online (UK-wide) or in person in Buckhurst Hill (IG9).
In-person sessions take place in a calm, homely building with welcoming rooms. There is a WC, free on-street parking and the space is wheelchair accessible. The location is also easily reached by public transport, just a short walk from Roding Valley station and around 10 minutes on foot from Woodford or Buckhurst Hill stations.
Online sessions are held via Google Meet and can be joined on a computer, tablet or smartphone. You don’t need to download any software, you can simply use the secure link I send before each session. For online sessions, you’ll need to be in a comfortable and private space.

Sessions are payable prior to each appointment and I’ll send payment details when we book in.
Block of 4 online sessions
£200 (paid upfront)
This option is for those who like structure and consistency. You can use the four sessions weekly or spread them out to suit your schedule.
Concessions
I offer a limited number of reduced-rate spaces for people on low income.
Please feel free to ask about availability, there’s no pressure or need to justify your circumstances.
Life happens, plans change.
If you need to cancel or move a session, I simply ask for 24 hours’ notice.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged in full.
Block-booking refunds are offered for any unused sessions, provided they fall outside the 24-hour cancellation window.
